How to Unstuck Yourself

Create momentum in 5 minutes

Each entry takes just 5 minutes a day, enough to shift your mindset, unlock new ideas, and take the first small step forward. Motion ignites motivation.

GET IN MOTION

Guided by Real Art, Not Templates

Includes 20 original sketches from Jalena Hay's own creative process. Her sketchbook is a safe haven where she allows play with no pressure. She wants her drawings to encourage play, and visually guide, inspire, and remind you that creativity doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.

GET INSPIRED

Give yourself space to play, with no-pressure

You don’t need to draw or speak to express emotion - color does it for you. It’s a powerful way to explore feelings that words or images simply can’t contain. Color speaks for itself and there is no pressure to "get it right."

Why I Created This Journal

After I gave birth to my son, I thought I was supposed to have a burst of creativity, having been through this life changing experience. I had the opposite, where everything felt so hard. Then another life changing experience happened during the height of Covid, I was diagnosed with cancer. I went through surgery and treatment during the pandemic. While recovering at home I thought, ok is NOW the time where my life changing events inspire me? I had the opposite effect where drawing felt too overwhelming. I didn't know how to process this, let alone draw it.

After a few years, I wanted to come back to my practice. I started with some small prompts and exercises that I share in this journal. These helped me to get back into the habit of making, and helped me to start being creative with no pressure. The more I allowed myself to create, the more I got excited about drawing. I am so thrilled to share these prompts with you and help you get your creativity back, wherever you are in your journey.

About Jalena

Jalena Hay's process is immediate, embodied, and unrepeatable: each piece emerges from a single moment of presence, a real-time response to memory, sensation, and inner atmosphere.

Her work lives in the in-between: between abstraction and representation, between what is seen and what is deeply felt. Every mark is a pulse of presence; nothing is pre-planned. The result is a body of work that invites contemplation, not just consumption.

Color and line are not used merely for form, but as a felt language, a way of resonating with the nervous system. Rather than explain, her compositions resonate, vibrating with quiet energy and inviting repeated, deeper encounters.
